Fact: The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a child come in for an orthodontic screening around the age of seven when the first molars come in.
Myth: Metal braces are the only orthodontic treatment.
Fact: There are several other treatments available, including Invisalign, a method to straighten your teeth through clear, plastic aligners.
Myth: Invisalign is only for adults.
Fact: Invisalign now offers Invisalign Teen, a treatment specifically designed for teens that includes compliance indicators to make sure that the teenager is wearing the aligners as prescribed.
