Roberto S. Carvalho, DMD, PhD
Dr. Carvalho graduated from Harvard School of Dental Medicine with a residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in conjunction with post-doctoral training in Orthopedics at the Children’s Hospital in Boston. In addition, Dr. Carvalho has a Masters of Science degree in Craniofacial Growth and Development and a PhD degree in Oral Biology, both from the University of Manitoba in Canada and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Boston University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Carvalho has been involved in academia and has dedicated time to research and teaching. He has published and lectured in North America and overseas and has received several awards. In particular, Dr. Carvalho is the recipient of the Milo Hellman Award, one of the most prestigious awards given by the American Association of Orthodontists and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and the Coenraad F.A. Moorrees Award given by the Harvard Society for Advancement of Orthodontics. Currently, Dr. Carvalho plans to continue teaching and conducting research on a limited basis as an Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at the Goldman School of Dental Medicine and also as an Assistant Research Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the School of Medicine, both at Boston University.
Dr. Carvalho and his wife, Elsa, have three young children, twins Felipe and Isabela, and Flavia. Dr. Carvalho has a solid character, is warm and caring and relates well to people of all ages. He is also fluent in Portuguese and has a commanding knowledge of French and Spanish. Together with his family, he likes a variety of activities such as traveling, golf, running, reading, but most of all Dr. Carvalho enjoys spending time with his wife and kids.
Menachem D. Roth, DMD, MMSc
Drs. Carvalho is pleased to welcome Dr. Menachem D. Roth to our practice. Dr. Roth is an accomplished and expert smile-maker, with a Harvard education and experience in cutting edge orthodontic technologies and superior smile results. We are fortunate to have him as our new partner in smiles.
Dr. Roth comes to us with great expertise and education having completed his residency in Orthodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in addition to earning a Master of Medical Science degree in Oral Biology. Prior to his Masters and residency, Dr. Roth obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He was recognized throughout his educational career for his outstanding academic performance and has taken part in advanced research related to facial growth, cleft palate issues and the perception of facial aesthetics. Dr. Roth is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of many premier orthodontic associations. He is also a family man who loves spending time with his wife and two children.
Like Dr. Carvalho, Dr. Roth is committed to offering the latest technologies in Orthodontic treatment in order to maximize patients’ comfort, convenience and achieve great results. He looks forward to utilizing his skills and expertise to help create beautiful smiles for children and adults alike.
